Jumby Bay Island

Scenically it doesn’t get much better than a 300-acre private island with show stopping white beaches and some of the clearest waters in the Caribbean. Throw in a money-noobject Rosewood Hotel & Resort and you achieve something close to perfection.

A sublime infinity-edge pool competes with the 25-metre lap pool and whilst the chilled towels, homemade sorbets and uninterrupted seascapes are all guaranteed to seduce you, there’s also a fullservice spa, resort bicycles, tennis courts and motorised watersports. Executive Chef Sylvain Hervochon brings a luxury five-star culinary experience to the newly restored Estate House Restaurant and 1830 Bar. Following a six-million-dollar restoration, the circa 1830 plantation house, once the centrepiece of the island’s sugar plantation and the oldest building on Jumby Bay Island, has been returned to its former grandeur with a design and culinary concept inspired by the home’s rich history and island traditions. The new Estate House includes a main restaurant and bar with three new private dining rooms each featuring a different island-inspired menu, as well as a wine room. The Verandah Restaurant remains the hub of the resort offering unique culinary experiences at breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the sunny-chic Pool Grill delivers lighter fare, cocktails and snacks throughout the day. The Jumby Beach Shack offers a casual menu of local West Indian treats like Lobster Roti, as well as quick and easy wraps and sandwiches. Indeed, an air of classic luxury pervades this sprawling resort. The 40 rooms and suites boast everything from hand-carved four-posters and romantic courtyard bathtubs many with their own private swimming pools. For even more privacy and space, a collection of luxurious beachside villas and private homes offer 2 to 8 bedrooms on sprawling estates with private pools, and in the case of private estate homes like the 7 bedroom “Pure Turquoise”, a fully dedicated private staff with chef, butler and housekeeper will leave no guest wanting. Younger guests will be treated like the VILPs they are at the fantastic kid’s club
