Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort, is set within a UNESCO-listed world heritage site amid 100 acres of tropical rainforest. It’s a luxury St. Lucia resort and hotel with lush landscaped grounds that sweep down to a stunning white sand beach.

Stay in supreme elegance

The hotel is located on the site of an 18th-century sugar plantation, which is reflected in the colonial charm of its rooms. Stay in guestrooms, villas, bungalows and cottages that combine traditional style with modern amenities. Accommodation can be found on the beach or nestled in the hotel gardens, and rooms have spectacular views of the Piton Mountains and the Caribbean Sea.

All accommodation includes media centres, free internet access, a private bar, and hot drink-making facilities. A stay at the Luxury Cottage even includes your own personal butler service.

Dining and drinking

Sugar Beach restaurants serve only the finest and freshest food. The Great Room restaurant offers a range of gourmet dishes made from local ingredients, including scallops, artichokes and tender Kobe beef. The Terrace restaurant is on the ground floor of the Great Houses, where guest can enjoy delicious cuisine with stunning views of the gardens.

On the beach you’ll find the Bayside restaurant, which offers relaxed dining and drinking, while the Cane Bar has a professional ‘rummelier’ - an expert in native and international rums.

For after-dinner drinks, the Palm Court Lounge has a fine range of cocktails and a variety of beer, wines and teas.

An active break

Non-motorised watersports equipment is available free of charge for guests, including, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking and pedalos. Land-based activities include walking, yoga and fitness classes. When you want to wind down and pamper yourself, the St. Lucia Spa offers a range of relaxing treatments. Sugar Beach welcomes couples and families who want a luxury experience in beautiful natural surroundings.

When to travel
December to May are the best months for weather with an average daily temperature of 30 degrees. It boasts a hot tropical climate, and is lush with rainforest thanks to its summer humidity – tempered by those welcome Trade Winds.
How to get there
British Airways and Virgin Atlantic fly to the island both in the summer and winter, with the option to upgrade to First on several of those flights. The flying time is 9 hours and honeymooners will be pleased to know there are always departures on Sundays!
