Amanjena

Amanjena

A cooling respite from the hustle and bustle of nearby Marrakech, Amanjena offers attentive service in understated, uncrowded yet impressive surroundings. Designed by the US architect Ed Tuttle, the Amanjena complex is inspired by ancient Moorish palaces and features striking rose-colours columns, perfectly symmetrical arches, beautifully-carved fountains and a shaded courtyard where you can relax while listening to music and enjoying some mint tea.

Palatial room furnishings

This boutique hotel comprises 40 pavilions and mansions. Each features graceful archways, vaulted ceilings and garden courtyards; inside, Berber carpets are scattered over zellij-tile floors. The Moorish design features in the furnishings through its comfortable, muted colours. Rooms have private courtyards, and some also boast private pools to cool off after a day under the African sun. A generously sized heated outdoor pool is available to all guests too.

Culinary surprises

Breakfast by the pool with a choice of fresh pastries and fruits, as well as more substantial eggs and French toast. The Mediterranean Restaurant is housed within the elegant reception pavilion and offers a menu tracing culinary traditions from Morocco to Sicily, the south of France and Spain’s historic Al-Andalus region. If you want to explore further afield, our drivers will take you to other top restaurants in the neighbourhood.

Relaxing in the spa

For those seeking some activity, Amanjena offers spa services and an exercise room. Hammam is a Moroccan speciality and Amanjena is no exception to this. Enjoy therapeutic body scrubs and massages using homemade spa products to leave you feeling renewed and relaxed. Try a little golf on the local courses or hire mountain bikes and explore the local countryside. Head to the medina for some traditional Moroccan market experiences, or visit nearby attractions, including the Royal Palace and the Shrob ou Shouf Fountain. For fun of a different kind, the Oasiria Water Park is popular with big and little kids alike.
