Located on Madagascar’s north-west coast, the spectacular Anjajavy Lodge can be found on a remote peninsula. The area is abundant in white sands, clear turquoise waters and enchanting forest. Anjajavy aims to reflect the warm hospitality of the local islanders, as well as the biological diversity of this stunning landscape. The forest is WWF-classified and globally renowned for homing a number of rare and native species of plants and animals. The Anjajavy peninsula is thus one of the leading places on the planet to witness the beauty of unique Madagascan nature.
Rosewood villas
At the centre of the resort is a lodge built directly opposite a coconut grove. Surrounding this are 25 deluxe villas constructed from rosewood. Inside each has a living room as well as bedroom, plus a separate upstairs area that can be used as an additional bedroom, lounge area or even a study. All villas are air conditioned for your comfort and all feature a generous terrace that overlooks the ocean.
Sea life
If you love the water, then you’ll feel right at home at Anjajavy. As well as a 200-metre seawater swimming pool, there is a selection of seven private coves to discover. When the resort was created, Anjajavy cleared various secret pathways leading to these secluded bays, so it’s easy to access your own, private little piece of paradise.
An oasis
Another unique feature of Anjajavy is its oasis. This magical garden is a wet biotope, with native Madagascan plants. At the oasis you can enjoy a daily afternoon tea, complete with hot and cool drinks and freshly baked cakes. As you relax, you might spot lemurs, chameleons, frogs and bird species such as the Malagasy Kingfisher and Souimanga Sunbirds.
The finest produce
Main meals are served at the Rosewood Restaurant from an a la carte menu featuring fresh seafood and local, organic fruits and vegetables that are delivered daily by the villagers who grow them. Sample the best prawns in the world and savour simple yet elegantly executed, delicious dishes with an authentic Madagascan flavour.
