&Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge

&Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge

Stay in a romantic tree house like no other at the only permanent lodge in the stunning Lake Manyara National Park in northern Tanzania. &Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge boasts luxurious suites built right up in the trees.

The journey to &Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is part of the magic. Daily flights land at Lake Manyara Airstrip, after which you will experience the first game drive of your stay to reach the lodge itself. Keep an eye out for herds of buffalo or elephants and remember to look up to spot the park’s famous tree-climbing lions.

Memorable moments

Your stay at &Beyond Lake Manyara will be full of memorable moments. Meet the eyes of monkeys on a treetop walk or search for wildlife by the light of the moon reflected in the lake. Spot your first lion lounging in the branches of a tree.

Local culture

Cycle through Mayoka village or take a tour of Mto Wa Mbu, a small town at the entrance to the park, to have the opportunity to talk to local people, artists and artisans and to sample the local brew – banana beer.

Game drives

Twice-daily game drives will take you to all of the different habitats within the park. The lake is always good for spotting birds, including the pink flamingo. The acacia woodlands, tall mahogany forest and grassy floodplains are home to a cornucopia of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo and giraffes. Enjoy the antics of troops of olive baboons and keep your eyes peeled for a sighting of the shy Cape clawless otters and slinking leopards.

The night drives reveal a completely different view of the park and its wildlife. Expect to see nocturnal animals such as prickly porcupines, civets and genets. Hippos may be out of the water grazing, and you can see just how big they are.

Luxurious accommodation

Enjoy your stay in one of the nine well-equipped tree house suites or the family suite - and luxuriate with a refreshing outdoor shower or perhaps a massage in the ‘Gym-in-a-Basket.’ There’s also WiFi if you want to stay connected.
