Casa Palopó

Casa Palopó

Casa Palopo is a luxury boutique hotel in Guatemala offering top class personalised service, eco-friendly activities and fine dining in a superb natural setting. The resort is steeped in Guatemala’s rich culture with antiques, bright colours, traditional furnishings and art.

Villas, suites and rooms

A small hotel with just 15 rooms, Casa Palopo offers exclusive boutique style luxury. Accommodation is in villas, suites or rooms. For the height of luxury, stay in Villa Palopo, decorated in a contemporary style with modern paintings and textiles. Spacious rooms have four-poster mahogany beds, an infinity pool and a hot tub.

Other rooms and suites are in a more traditional style with paintings by local artists. Many rooms have private terraces with wood sun loungers and beautiful views of the lake and three volcanoes.

All rooms have modern amenities and attentive service is always available from the friendly Casa Palopo staff.

The tastes of Guatemala

Dine on the open terrace at 6.8 Palopo, the in-house restaurant where you can hear the birds and the gentle sounds of boats cruising the lake. The executive chef serves Guatemalan-inspired dishes with an international twist made with produce sourced from local farms. Try homemade ice creams of local flavours, such as watermelon and coconut or Guatemalan vanilla.

Explore

Casa Palopo is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with the lake, volcanos, mountains and a rich variety of wildflowers. Take a kayak on the lake or enjoy a boat trip. For an exhilarating experience view the area from the air by helicopter.

Come for a day to paint a house in bright colours at the Pintando Santa Catarina Palopo project which Casa Palopo supports as part of its sustainability mission.

The friendly Casa Palopo team welcomes couples, families and groups who want a relaxed luxury holiday in a beautiful environment with plenty of opportunities to explore the local area.

When to travel
Guatemala is an all year round destination. Dry season runs from November to April, but even the wet season rainfall is usually no more than a couple of hours a day in the main tourist areas. Guatemala is often combined with Belize and if you are combining the two we normally advise against travel in September and October as weather in Belize can be a little more problematic.
How to get there
There are no direct flights to Guatemala from the UK so you will require a connection. British Airways partners Iberia fly from London via Madrid, while you can also use British Airways and American Airlines to connect through the US. Other routes are available via Mexico City.
