A luxury holiday in North Africa takes you to another culture, another world - one full of wonders and exhilarating experiences.

Morocco

Morocco is one of the most popular destinations in North Africa, offering a tantalising mixture of cultures and landscapes. Visitors enjoy stunning vistas over desert sand dunes, the High Atlas mountains, the beautiful coast and idyllic, fertile valleys. They can also see impressive buildings, imperial cities and palaces built by the great dynasties that settled in Morocco. The country is also famous for its warm hospitality, which holidaymakers will experience everywhere they go.

Marrakech

The fourth-largest city in the country, and its most visited, Marrakech is Morocco in a nutshell. You will love the medieval medina with its warren of souks - which are marketplaces selling traditional Moroccan food, ceramics, jewellery, lanterns and more.

The architectural highlight of Marrakech is the Koutoubia Mosque complete with its turquoise tiling, red bricks and sandstone.

Marrakech is renowned for its food. At night, the central medina is alive with street food vendors selling traditional Moroccan dishes, including couscous and tagine. For the sweeter tooth, ice creams, sorbets and French-style pastries are available for dessert. Entertainment while you eat is provided by street musicians, acrobats and street theatre performers.

Many people are surprised to find that Morocco has a surfing centre at Taghazout. The laid-back coastal fishing village is a favourite destination among both professional and novice surfers.

For those looking to broaden their horizons, there are day trips available from Marrakech to the Moroccan coast.

The Atlas Mountains

The majestic Atlas Mountains are a 45-minute drive from Marrakech. The highest mountain range in North Africa, they run across Morocco for nearly 1,000km. From September to May, they are covered in snow, which attracts winter sports enthusiasts to the area.

Rivers flow from the mountains towards Marrakech and create lush valleys where visitors seeking calm can relax in secluded villages.

Casablanca

Casablanca is just a two and three-quarter hour road journey from Marrakech, and is truly a city of contrasts. Ancient Moroccan and French-style buildings rub shoulders with recently built constructions. Be sure to see the Quartier Habous and the beachside suburb of Ain Diab, which were once the home of pirates.
