Home to the ‘Big Five’ - buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion and rhinoceros – safaris in South Africa are world famous, making this an astonishing setting for your next getaway.

Kruger National Park

Luxury holidays in Kruger National Park offer the opportunity to base your stay in one of the largest game and wildlife reserves in the world. Stretching over 19,485 square kilometres, Kruger National Park has been a protected region since 1898 and ethical tourism has been established in this area ever since the early 1900s. Stay in one of our exquisite safari lodges on the reserve itself and enjoy 5-star butler service, knowledgeable guides to take you around the reserve by jeep, and stunning suites in which to relax after an action-packed day tracking down the magnificent beasts.

Take a trip up to Crook’s Corner at the north of the reserve to where the Luvuvhu and Limpopo Rivers join together and marvel at this beautiful spot. Soak up the beautiful golden sunshine, the crystal clear nights, and don’t forget to take your camera, as the luminosity in this part of the world will undoubtedly make for some amazing pictures. In Kruger National Park, luxury holidays are definitely one-of-a-kind.

Malaria free safaris

While the risk of malaria is very low in Kruger National Park, it’s not a certified malaria free zone. If you’re travelling with children or with people with a compromised immune system, or you simply don’t want to take the risk, malaria free safaris do exist. South Africa has three regions – with reserves smaller but just as rewarding as Kruger – that are 100 per cent malaria free.

The Eastern Cape, home to the Addo Elephant National Park, boasts amazing scenery and wildlife and beautiful thatched-roofed lodges from which to explore the park. The Northwest Province hosts two reserves, each with their own collection of lavish lodges, private pools and top-of-the-range wildlife tours.

Pilanesberg National Park is suited to visitors who fancy the adventure of a self-drive safari. Hire jeeps onsite and wake up among the elephants at our resorts dotted around the park. Madikwe Game Reserve, near to the border with Botswana, is a great place to try to see the Big Five. Stay in stunning, authentically-designed lodges and dine by firelight in the evening.

Finally, The Waterberg is quieter and more chilled-out than other reserves, but is nonetheless a fantastic place from which to explore this extraordinary landscape. Take advantage of the exclusive use of your lodge, affording you privacy and flexibility, as you’re looked after by attentive staff. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to luxury malaria free safaris in this part of the world.

One of our handpicked lodges on these reserves makes the perfect place to unwind and discover this extraordinary land and its creatures. If you’ve always dreamed of taking a safari, don’t delay – contact us by phone or live chat to speak to one of our experts today.
