Formerly a magisterial private residence, the Grand Dedale is situated within an award-winning wine estate and boasts magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards. The small and picturesque town of Wellington is close by and the bustling Cape Town only a 50-minute drive away. Tranquil and calm, this house offers peaceful seclusion and the perfect location for a luxurious South African escape.
Live in luxury
With only six suites available, you are guaranteed excellent quality and five-star service at the Grand Dedale. Each suite is beautifully appointed and features such additional touches as fresh flowers, underfloor heating in the bathrooms, tea and coffee facilities and flat screen TVs. If you’re seeking complete exclusivity, consider opting for the single, 18th-century, thatched cottage which offers the luxuries of a private patio, king-sized bed and mini-bar.
Exceptional dining
For breakfast, the Grand Dedale serves an impressive range of delicacies, from fresh fruit and croissants to a variety of cooked dishes. The evening meals are equally opulent, with four courses comprising a wealth of authentic flavours made from locally sourced produce, generally preceded by pre-dinner drinks on the veranda or beside the pool. Light lunches and snacks are also available or why not ask for your own specially prepared picnic basket?
Activities galore
You’ll be spoilt for choice for activity options whilst staying at the Grand Dedale. Long, lazy days may be spent soaking up the sun beside the saltwater pool, wandering around the manicured gardens or indulging in one of the pamper treatments available in the wonderful spa room.
For those feeling a little more adventurous, there are numerous trails to explore from simple, riverside strolls to hikes up the Bainskloof Pass. Alternatively, indulge in a wine-tasting session or, a little further afield, why not try your hand at trout fishing, river rafting or quad biking?
