The hotel’s position gives guests spectacular ocean views over the Pacific - including the other Hawaiian islands - as well as mountains and the resort’s own landscaped, Japanese-style zen gardens.

Your own designer sanctuary

Spacious suites with designer interiors define the accommodation offered at Hotel Wailea. Inside, deep bathtubs, thick luxurious linens and flat screen TVs supply comfort and entertainment, while private outdoor lanais make dreamy, sun-drenched, al fresco living a reality. With wide, whitewashed oak floorboards, coral and limestone walls and granite worktops, no expense has been spared in the creation of these beautiful sanctuaries. Each suite has a kitchenette complete with fridge-freezer and Nespresso machine, so you can enjoy a chilled beer or glass of wine or premium coffee whenever the mood takes you.

Treehouse, Cabanas

From The Restaurant to The Treehouse, The Lounge and The Cabanas, fabulous food is yours to savour at Hotel Wailea. Fine dining, Hawaiian-inspired menus are created around the availability of fresh, seasonal produce from the island’s fishermen and farms, while many fruits used are grown in the hotel’s orchard. The Treehouse allows you to dine among the avocado and mango trees, sampling a seven-course tasting menu as you watch the magnificent island sunset. Afterwards, the open-air Lounge can mix up the perfect cocktail or suggest a fine wine to enjoy in the balmy evening air. The Cabanas, meanwhile, is a relaxed poolside venue for daytime light bites and drinks.

From vintage cruising to sunset sailing

All manner of activities can be enjoyed when staying at Hotel Wailea. Take to the seas for a beach picnic, sunset sailing, SUP yoga or kiteboarding instruction, or revel in a floating sound bath. Drive around paradise in a vintage car or learn to mix a Mai Tai or create refined, flavourful cuisine. It’s your holiday, your way.

When to travel
Hawaii basks in a tropical climate with warm temperatures of between 20°C (68°F) and 30°C (86°F) throughout the year. Perhaps it is best to avoid the wettest months between November and April although rainfall can occur at any time. Interestingly it is quite common for the individual islands to have their own micro-climates, and as a general rule the northeastern parts of the islands are wetter than the south-western regions.
How to get there
Fly to Hawaii from London with British Airways, in just over 17 hours. Flights from London Heathrow to Los Angeles take around 11 hours, with onward flights to Hawaii operated by British Airways partners American Airlines taking around six hours. You can also travel through San Francisco which is a similar time in the air.
