Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef Safari Camp

Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef Safari Camp

The Great Barrier Reef is world renowned, but Australia has another amazing, more unspoilt reef to explore too. Tucked away on the country’s lesser known west coast, Sal Salis is situated right by the beach and the Ningaloo Reef.

See it all, away from it all

Accommodation at Sal Salis is in a safari-style, seaside camp, which adds to the general feeling of getting away from it all. The camp is designed to be eco-friendly, and to coexist in harmony with the natural surroundings. From each tent, there are fabulous views of both the bush and the beach, so you can get up close to native Antipodean wildlife such as Wallaroos, Echidnas, Galahs, Kangaroos and Goannas.

The ocean, meanwhile, is home to dolphins, humpback whales, manta rays, whale sharks and more. While accommodation includes creature comforts like cosy beds, pure cotton linens and en-suite bathrooms as well as mouth-watering meals and a bar. There are no TVs or telephones at the camp with the intention to deliver a truly relaxing, back-to-nature experience.

Dining by the Indian Ocean

Food is a serious business indeed at Sal Salis. Fresh fish and seafood as well as local produce determine the menu, which is also embellished with bush tucker here and there. Meals are taken with other guests, either on the outside deck with Indian Ocean views or inside the lodge. Nightly three course meals are cooked and served with care and precision and are accompanied and complemented by fine wines from Western Australia.

Remote rest and relaxation

Rest and relaxation are easy to come by at Sal Salis, but there are some exciting activities on offer too. How about a swim with whale sharks or humpback whales? You can also swim or snorkelling in the warm waters, or take a guided bush walk to discover the more remote side of Australia.
