Singita Kwitonda Lodge

Singita Kwitonda Lodge

Singita Kwitonda Lodge can be found in north-western Rwanda, on the border of Volcanoes National Park. This luxury African retreat provides guests with the opportunity to experience gorilla-trekking in an unparalleled natural setting, while staying in supremely comfortable, locally styled accommodation and enjoying fine African dining.

Carefully crafted suites

Every one of Singita Kwitonda’s eight deluxe suites has its own private heated plunge pool, plus an outdoor fireplace. Inside, there’s another fireplace plus vast timber-framed windows that let in lots of natural light while ensuring spectacular views over the surrounding terrain. Carefully selected features such as rustic terracotta brickwork and curved woven ceilings made by local craftspeople ensure this luxury lodge is most abundant in authentic East African style.

Farm-to-table dining and gorilla conservation

Singita Kwitonda aims to raise the bar regarding sustainable and luxurious ecotourism. To this end, meals served at Kwitonda showcase Rwandese cuisine and feature fresh produce from the resort’s own garden. There is also the Akarabo Nursery on site, forming a fundamental part of the owners’ commitment to the long-term conservation of the local gorilla population. The mountain gorillas found in this part of Rwanda are an endangered species, and the aim is to enlarge their habitat via a process of reforestation.

The heart of Africa

This region of Rwanda is locally called “The Land of a Thousand Hills”. The area offers far more than gorilla trekking and tracking to visitors. A range of other available attractions include exploring fertile meadowland, discovering unspoilt forests, seeing picturesque, shimmering local lakes and even experiencing the lively capital of Kigali. When you visit Singita Kwitonda, you’ll find plenty to fill your days. This really is the ideal base for an Rwandan adventure.
