Tanjong Jara Resort

Tanjong Jara Resort

A luxurious five-star retreat in Malaysia, Tanjong Jara Resort faces a golden sandy beach, overlooking the South China Sea. Enjoy a true taste of Malaysia at this tropical hideaway, where local traditions and hospitality go hand in hand to offer a unique, unforgettable holiday experience.

Like a palace

17th century Malaysian palaces inspired the construction of Tanjong Jara, with structures featuring wooden fretwork so typical of this architectural style. Indoors, rooms offer opulent, contemporary luxury, enhanced by features reflecting their Malay location. All rooms boast incredible views of the sea or lush, tropical gardens. From the Bumbung Rooms to the Serambi and Anjung Rooms, all provide guests with a tranquil, relaxing and comfortable environment.

Above the river, by the sea

Dining out is a real treat when holidaying in Malaysia, and Tanjong Sara is no exception to this culinary rule. Di Atas Sungei translates as ‘above the river’, and this Malaysian restaurant does indeed sit right on top of the water. Fresh, local produce is used here to create the finest, authentically Malaysian dishes. Nelayan, meanwhile, means ‘fisherman’ so it’s no surprise to learn that this seaside eatery specialises in fish and seafood.

Teratai Terrace serves up fresh salads and delectable desserts by day. By night, it’s the place to sip a cocktail while watching a film - movie screenings occur here at 9pm. If you’d love to picnic on the beach, dine on the rocks or barbecue under a starlit sky, you can book your own private dining experience too.

Inner and outer beauty

Malaysian spa traditions have been influenced by Arab, Chinese and Indian practices, and Spa Village Tanjong Jara was borne with this in mind. Using local ingredients and techniques is at the heart of this holistic spa experience. Let the experienced therapists relax, rejuvenate and refresh, so you can return home feeling more beautiful - inside and out.
