The Grand Hotel Cocumella
The oldest hotel on the Sorrento peninsula, The Grand Hotel Cocumella is a place of myth and magic, and a favoured haunt of artists, writers and scientists from Goethe to Mary Shelley, Hans Christian Andersen and Sigmund Freud. With an exquisite private church and ancient cloister, it’s the perfect base from which to explore the ruins of Pompeii and the Islands of Capri and Ischia.
The boutique hotel has 47 rooms with views of the citrus groves or the garden that reaches down to the sea. When to travel
Winters here are generally mild but can be wet and as such much is closed in the region. April to June and September to October are the nicest temperatures and it is generally quieter. July and August are peak months for temperatures and people.

British Airways flies daily to Naples from Gatwick with low cost airlines offering alternative timings and direct departures from Gatwick, Bristol, Birmingham, East Midlands, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
