Tortilis Camp Amboseli by Elewana

Tortilis Camp Amboseli by Elewana

Set in the Amboseli national park, the Elewana Tortilis camp features a selection of luxury tents and private rooms. The perfect base for exploring the wildlife park, Elewana Tortilis is named for the flat thorn trees that one can find in the park. Its connection with the park is an important part of its ethos.

Luxury camping Kenyan style

Elewana Tortilis comprises 16 tents, a family tent and a private residence. Tents are thatched with local makuti leaves, and each has an ensuite bathroom and spacious veranda; a great place for enjoying evening ‘sundowners’ whilst watching the sun set over the park, cool gin and tonic in hand. The private residence also boasts its own pool which is perfect for chilling out after a day spent roaming the park. Enjoy an al fresco ‘bush breakfast’ surrounded by wildlife under the shadow of Kilimanjaro - Africa’s highest peak which stands at 5895 meters above sea level and dominates the surrounding skyline.

Elephant encounters

The Amboseli national park is a centre for elephant research, which makes the Elewana Tortilis camp the ideal place to come face to face with these gentle giants. Expert guides take you out by 4x4 for game drives or wildlife walks which are guided by local Masai. Visits to Masai homesteads are also available. Take advantage of these trips to obtain a more profound understanding of life on the reserve.

Relaxing under the sun

After days spent exploring, relax in the cool waters of the swimming pool. Head to the fully-stocked bar to carry on the party. For those craving relaxation, poolside massages are also available.

Elewana Tortilis camp employs 60% of its staff from the local community, making sure they give back to the area that hosts them on this land, making it a responsible way to travel.
