Tsala Treetop Lodge

Tsala Treetop Lodge

High above an ancient indigenous forest, Tsala Treetop Lodge and Villas brings you closer to nature right from the start. The earthy, rich colours and textures of African culture harmonise with the western world to bring you a truly unique experience. Spacious open decks reach into the canopy of the lush green forest, and natural stone and wood combine to produce traditional African fittings, which are both luxurious and exotic.

Sleep among the treetops

Warm, plush and indulgently luxurious, this is what will strike you first about the outstanding guest accommodation at Tsala Treetop Lodge and Villas. Private infinity pools and decks which extend high into the forest are the ultimate romantic havens. Cosy fireplaces will keep you warm in the evenings, while every little detail has been carefully considered to give you an extraordinary and relaxing retreat.

Tantalising fare and delicious wines

Dine on the sun-deck or in the intimate glass-walled dining room, both of which offer spectacular views over the forest. The Zinzi Restaurant gives you a taste of traditional fare with an international twist, in a distinctly African setting full of fabulous carvings and tribal textiles. The Wine Cellar houses a delectable selection of some of the finest vintage and young wines from the vineyards of South Africa. Enjoy a glass or two as you watch the sunset over the treetops.

Fantastic activities

The exciting location of Tsala Treetop Lodge and Villas is perfect for exploring the Garden Route, where experiences like whale, seal and dolphin watching, visiting Monkeyland or the Birds of Eden bird sanctuary are a nature-lovers dream. The adventurous could take a Treetop Canopy Tour, while for the ultimate relaxation, immerse yourself in a little solitude by your private infinity pool. Alternatively, indulge yourself with a pamper treatment in the privacy of your own room.

Tsala Treetop Lodge and Villas offer a holiday destination that is simply out of this world, and your heart will be lost to this magical place from the beginning.

before you go

Everything you need to know before planning your dream trip

When to travel
Your holiday will begin with a British Airways or Virgin Atlantic flight from Heathrow to Johannesburg, or British Airways to Cape Town – the average flying time about 11 hours, although as there is only a 1 hour time difference there’s no tedious jet lag.
How to get there
November to February is the busiest time, but March to April and September to October are popular. Whale watchers should visit July to October, whilst May to October is a good time for safaris – it can get cold on game drives so pack a fleece.
