Wilderness Safaris Bisate Lodge

Wilderness Safaris Bisate Lodge

Bisate Lodge in Rwanda lies adjacent to Volcanoes National Park and makes the perfect base for those wishing to get up close and personal with the local gorilla population. This unique destination prides itself on its dedication to reforestation, as well as working in partnership with the local community.

Nestled in a natural amphitheatre that was created by the erosion of a volcanic cone, Bisate offers guests the most breathtaking views of the Karisimbi and Bisoke volcanic peaks, which rise majestically above the surrounding Afro-alpine forest. Bisate is the premier, deluxe eco-friendly safari lodge in Rwanda, and guests will find that an encounter with a gorilla group within Volcanoes National Park is truly the experience of a lifetime.

Forest villas

Accommodation at Bisate Lodge consists of six fabulous forest villas, all with en-suite bathrooms which offer the ultimate in modern creature comforts as well as the most stunning views. Decor is rich in timber and a typical interior features herringbone parquet flooring, dramatically curved ceilings, ambient lighting and rustic natural touches. Each detached villa is nestled into a wooded hillside, making the most of the splendid views over this part of Rwanda.

Environmental and cultural responsibility

The lodge is also committed to environmental responsibility in addition to reflecting rural Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage. Bisate is also most conveniently located, being within brief driving distance of Volcanoes National Park headquarters, where gorilla treks take place daily. Bush walks, meanwhile, offer visitors the chance to experience birdwatching, while guests can also actively participate in reforestation projects.

Beyond gorilla encounters

Guests at Bisate Lodge can take part in all sorts of activities in addition to gorilla treks. There are also golden monkey expeditions, guided national park walks and hikes, nursery visits and tree-planting projects as well as the chance to meet and interact with members of the local community.
